KSJV wins additional Wheatstone LNG work

Southern Cross Electrical Engineering (SCEE) said its LNG-focused joint venture KSJV won additional orders for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG project. 

The additional order, valued over A$30 million (US$22.2 million) has been awarded to the joint venture between SCEE and Kentech under its subcontract from Bechtel to deliver electrical and instrumentation installation services on the Wheatstone project.

With the additional work, KSJV’s total subcontract value rose over A$95 million, according to SCEE statement.

Wheatstone LNG project, west of Onslow, Australia is expected to start production of liquefied natural gas in mid-2017.

The 8.9 mtpa project is a joint venture between Australian units of Chevron (64.14 percent), Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (13.4 percent), Woodside (13 percent), and Kyushu Electric Power Company (1.46 percent), together with PE Wheatstone, part owned by JERA (8 percent).
