KSS Line Returns to HHI for One More LPG Carrier

South Korean shipping company KSS Line Ltd., a specialist in transporting chemical cargoes, has inked a construction contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries for a 84,000 cbm very large gas carrier.

Under the contract, signed on November 2nd, the newly ordered LPG carrier is slated for delivery in 2017.

The ship is estimated to be worth KRW 88 billion (USD 77 million).

The latest order brings KSS Line’s order book to five, as it already has two 84,000 cbm VLGCs at HHI and two 38,000 cbm LPG carriers at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

The shipping company operates a fleet of five VLGCs.

The company also announced that it plans to continue investing in the expansion of its VLGC fleet to meet the growing demand driven by development of U.S. Shale Gas LPG transport.
