Kyokuyo Shipyard Makes Personnel Changes

Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation announced today that Shusaku Yamada, Managing Director, will concentrate on taking the lead in its material purchasing operations, effective September 1, 2013. The company’s president Katsuhiko Ochi will directly take charge of Kyokuyo’s newbuilding and repair sales operations, responsibilities of which were previously assumed by Shusaku Yamada.

It is a strategic retouch to the directors duties responding to the recent and expected hike in prices of machineries and materials. By letting Yamada to concentrate on purchasing operations, Kyokuyo aims to further enhance its cost competitiveness. At the same time, this change allows the company to make order-related decisions more quickly.

Kyokuyo also announced that additional reshuffle of assignments for officers and managers, by which 2 officers : Satoshi Saeki and Norihiko Harada swap their positions. The company expects the experience and leadership of Saeki and Harada will energize their new divisions by bringing a fresh view. The management also expects the officers and the managers to gain wider perspective and to deepen their knowledge as future executive candidates.

All the changes are effective September 1, 2013.
