Last Albatros Turbine Stands

All 16 Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbines have been installed on the 112MW Albatros offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, EnBW said.

This marks the completion of the turbine installation on the largest offshore wind project in Germany which includes the 71 wind turbines on the neighbouring Hohe See wind farm, according to EnBW.

The turbines were installed by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up vessels Blue Tern and Brave Tern.

The EnBW Albatros wind farm is being built some 104 kilometres off the coast of Germany, in the immediate vicinity of the 497MW EnBW Hohe See.

The two projects are being built as one and are due to be put into operation by the end of 2019. The wind farms are owned by EnBW, Enbridge, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
