Liquiline Wins Regional Innovation Prize 2013

Winner of the NHO Hordaland Innovation Prize, and candidate for the National Innovation Price for 2013, is Liquiline.

“The prize is an important part of the NHO’s work on visualization of business innovation capability, and show that there are good creative businesses in the country. Furthermore, perceived prize is an important recognition of the winners,” says Regional Director Tom Knudsen NHO Hordaland.

He also stated that the winner of NHO Hordaland Innovation Prize is Region Association candidate for the National Innovation Prize which is to be awarded at 21 August 2013.

Liquiline was established in 2005 by Dag Lilletvedt, who is also the CEO of the company. Liquiline is a global gas engineering company and an independent provider of services and solutions for the distribution of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied biogas (LBG). The company has developed among others the LiquiTainer concept, a container based solution to distribute liquefied gases. This solution is a key element in Liquiline’s business concept. Through its technology solutions and its expertise in liquefied gases, the company in a few years become a leading player in the LNG and LBG container distribution both in Norway and abroad.

Liquiline is headquartered in Bergen and has offices in Vancouver and Singapore. The world is facing a comprehensive global transition from oil to gas as a fuel for ships. Ship owners worldwide are now looking for the necessary distribution solutions to meet such a development. Liquiline technology will be suitable for supplying shipping of LNG. Similarly Liquiline technology is suitable for conversion from diesel to gas as a fuel for trucks and locomotives. This will contribute to a significantly more climate-and environmentally-friendly transport.

Liquiline has a global growth strategy and concluded a short time ago a contract with a major gas distribution company in North America. In addition, the company entered into agreements with major engine suppliers which puts Liquiline in a very good position in relation to such shipping and industrial markets.

“The innovation award will reward the individual initiative and creating increased interest and awareness in the society for innovation and creation of new businesses. This purpose is fulfilled to the fullest by Dag Lilletvedt through the creation of Liquiline,” said regional director Tom Knudsen.
