Lithuania: Klaipeda LNG regas volumes soar in April

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification volumes at Lithuania’s first and only import terminal in the port of Klaipeda jumped in April.

According to the data reported by the terminal operator Klaipedos Nafta, during the month of April, the company’s LNG import terminal and its small-scale LNG facility have regasified and reloaded 1.47 TWh of natural gas, compared to the 1.15 TWh during the same period of 2018.

This represents a rise of more than 28.3 percent, the company said in its report.

During the first four months of 2019, the company in total regasified and reloaded 2.21 TWh of the natural gas which compares to 2.25 TWh during the same period of 2018.

Sales revenue from the LNG facility in April rose 27.8 percent, reaching €7.7 million ($8.6 million) which compares to €5.3 million in the corresponding period in 2018.

The preliminary revenue of the LNG terminal for the first four months of 2019 comprise €30.6 million and are higher by 39.1 percent compared to the €22 million reported in the same period of 2018.
