Gordon Waters, global head of LNG at Glencore, has reportedly resigned from his position with the Swiss commodity trader.

Citing sources close to the matter, Reuters reports Waters, who joined the company in July 2015, filed his resignation early last week.

After joining Glencore in 2015 from BP, Waters praised the potential for LNG trading growth, expecting to position the company among major players in the spot and short-term LNG trade.

The company had then planned to expand its trading team and to trade some 50 LNG cargoes in 2016. The company had also scooped a 25 LNG cargo deal with Egypt for delivery in 2017 and 2018.
