LNG Limited: Bear Paw Pipeline registers EA

Liquefied Natural Gas Limited said on Wednesday its unit Bear Paw Pipeline registered its environmental assesment with Nova Scotia Environment.

Bear Paw is proposing to construct and operate a 62.5 km natural gas pipeline from Goldboro to the proposed Bear Head LNG export facility in Point Tupper, Richmond County, Nova Scotia, the company said in a statement.

The pipeline would connect Bear Head LNG facility to the North American natural gas pipeline network.

Australia’s LNG Limited added that expenditures for construction of the pipeline should begin only after the financial close of the Bear Head LNG project.

The Bear Head LNG facility would have the initial capacity to produce 8 million tons of LNG per year with the option to expand the capacity to 12 mtpa. Initially, the facility would have four, two 180,000 cbm storage tanks and a marine terminal with associated infrastructure.
