LNG Limited names new chairman

Australia-based LNG Limited, the developer of three LNG export projects, said its chairman Richard Beresford will step down from his position at the company’s annual general meeting in November.

Beresford will step down as chairman at the AGM on November 17 and remain on LNG Limited’s board as non-executive director, the Perth-based LNG developer said in its statement on Monday.

He will be replaced by Paul Cavicchi, who is already an executive director on the company’s board.

Cavicchi is based in Houston and will be able to directly provide assistance with the North American development and operational efforts. Houston is the location of the North American headquarters of LNG Limited.

He has over 30 years’ experience in the international energy industry across a  range of natural gas and power projects, including development and construction of LNG  infrastructure. His most recent position was executive vice president of GDF Suez Energy North America, a subsidiary of French utility and LNG player Engie.
