A consortium of Louis Dreyfus TravOcean and Prysmian has officially secured a contract for the supply and installation of inter-array cables at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France.

Under the EUR 100 million contract, the companies are in charge of the design, supply and installation of more than 100km of 33kV cable for the 480MW project.

As reported earlier, Prysmian will provide cable, accessories and terminating services for connecting the wind farm’s 80 turbines.

According to Louis Dreyfus, the award represents the group’s commitment to actively participate in building the French and worldwide offshore wind sector, in addition to several contracts secured for providing supply offshore vessels to the industry.

The Saint-Nazaire project comprises 80 6MW GE Haliade 150 turbines located some 12km offshore the Loire-Atlantique.

The commissioning of the 480MW offshore wind farm is scheduled for 2022.
