Low carbon award goes to Gasrec

Gasrec, European supplier of liquefied gas fuel for transport, was awarded the coveted Low Carbon Fuel Initiative of the Year award at the recent Low Carbon Champions Awards in Milton Keynes.

The judges said: “Gasrec’s 85% growth in biomethane sales over 18 months is highly impressive. They have a scale of operation that is of national significance in helping to decarbonise the freight sector in the UK. They have brought together a highly influential industry group to disseminate results and galvanise action.”

Gasrec pioneered Bio-LNG (liquefied landfill biomethane and LNG) for transport fuel and supplies more than 60% of gas powered HGVs on UK roads from 11 UK refuelling locations. In the last year it launched the UK’s first two open access Bio-LNG stations as part of its planned strategic network development.
