Lundin Norway AS Gets Green Light to Carry Out Exploration Drilling with Maersk Guardian


Lundin Norway AS has received consent to carry out exploration drilling in the North Sea with the mobile facility Mærsk Guardian.

The consent applies to drilling of exploration well 3/8-1, which is part of production licence 400.

The well has the following geographical coordinates:

N 56º 27′ 16.93”, E 4º 25′ 7.30”. The water depth at the site is approximately 65 metres.

According to the application for consent, the drilling will start mid-November 2010. The activity will have a duration of between 61 and 75 days, depending on the result of the drilling.

Mærsk Guardian is a jack-up drilling facility built in 1986. It is operated by Maersk Drilling Norge AS. The facility received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in July 2002.
