Maersk Line Gets Top EU Certificate

Danish containerized cargo shipping company Maersk Line has been re-certified as an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) with the AEO-F, the highest achievable accreditation in the European Union programme.

The AEO-F certificate is granted to companies that meet particularly high safety and security standards in global trade, and is similar to the US C-TPAT, which Maersk Line also holds.

”This certification will benefit Maersk Line customers through lower risk score resulting from the mandatory advance manifest filing and otherwise. Over time AEO participation is envisioned to also become an enabler for other EU governmental programmes,” Lars Lorenzen, Shore & Supply Chain Safety and Security at Maersk Line, said.

The certification was performed by the Danish customs administration on behalf of the EU Commission and other member states.
