Maintenance management on Heimdal needs more work, PSA says

From 11 March to 3 April 2014, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway carried out an audit of maintenance management on Heimdal HMP.

The audit is part of the PSA’s overall follow-up of maintenance management at Statoil Development and Production Norway, which was initiated in 2010.

“Our follow-up paid particular attention to the roles, responsibilities and involvement of the managerial function in maintenance management,” said the agency.

The objective of the audit was to evaluate maintenance management on Heimdal HMP in relation to the company’s own and the authorities’ requirements.

The audit resulted in one non-conformity identified in connection with the performance of planned maintenance.

In addition, four improvement points were identified in connection with: Plans and capacity for performance of maintenance; The company’s management of non-conformities; Labelling of equipment; Documentation.
