TCS Floating LSSPV, located in Serenedah, which started delivering renewable energy on January 5, 2024, marks TCMH’s first venture into the renewable energy sector.

The project is a result of the group’s involvement in the 20 MW solar photovoltaic initiative during the LSSPV Bidding Cycle 4 by the Energy Commission in 2020.

This floating solar plant built on Sungai Rawang – Serendah Lake is expected to supply Tenaga National Berhad with 1,043,114 MWh of environmentally friendly energy over a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA), contributing to a reduction of 610,221 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

“TCS Floating LSSPV – Serendah is an important milestone signifying the Group’s first venture into the renewable and sustainable energy sector. TCMH Group is pleased to be able to play our part in conserving the environment for our future generations,” said Daniel Ho, Group Chief Executive Officer of TCMH.

To preserve the lake’s ecosystem and its environment, the floating solar plant used only up to 60% of the water surface for installation, ensuring the preservation of existing biodiversity and water quality, said the firm.

The project adheres to the Environmental Management Plans guidelines stipulated by both Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) and the Department of Environment (DOE).

TCS will be responsible for operations & maintenance (O&M) of the plant. This includes securing the licensed capacity, safety, reliability, availability, and efficiency of the generating plant upheld throughout the PPA period.
