Schiedam-based Mammoet said it has been contracted for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Freeport in Brazoria County, Texas.

The scope of the project includes transporting a number of pieces to two different sites located three miles apart, the company informed in its statement.

Mammoet added that the transport process will be done by using two different methods of transport, by barge and over the road, depending on the various weights and sizes of the pieces.

To accomplish this project, Mammoet will utilize barges at three different docks, self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) and trailers with a range of axle lines.

Transport of the first pieces began in April 2016 and will continue through 2017, Mammoet said.
