The new lines will tie the existing Barents Super Tie in the west to the areas to be covered by the Group 3D Surveys in the Barents South East.

In addition, MCG will, in cooperation with SMNG, reprocess 2D seismic data from the Russian side of the Barents Sea.

This 2D survey will provide the oil companies with a consistent regional MC2D dataset, connecting a majority of the wells in the Norwegian Barents Sea will key fields and wells in the Russian Barents Sea.

This survey will be around 3,500 km and will be acquired by SMNG’s vessel the M/V Akademik Nemchinov.
