Mexico set for Peru’s LNG cargo

Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita has shipped its latest cargo to Mexico.

The 136,600 cbm LNG carrier Galea departed from the facility on December 3, data from the state-owned Perupetro reveals.

Even though, Perupetro has not yet confirmed the exact destination, Shell’s carrier, built in 2002 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is probably heading for the Manzanillo LNG terminal, where it unloaded once already in November.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s 4.4 mtpa LNG export plant has dispatched 298 vessels since it started operations in June 2010.
