Minesto launches support platform, wing tenders

Minesto has opened tenders for the provision of deep water support system, manufacturing of wing, wing section, and test rig for wing testing for tidal power plant.

The first tender involves the provision of deep water support system, including mooring buoy and a vessel or self-contained buoy or platform, that will support a 20’container which houses the Micro Grid System (MGS) and acts as a load dump.

The system should also support a control station with remote data link for a subsea tidal generator, Minesto informed.

The power take off will be connected via subsea umbilical riser to the MGS support solution.

The deadline for applications for Minesto’s Offshore Support Platform or Buoy tender is set for July 29, 2016, and the estimated worth of the contract is at €500,000.

Swedish tidal energy developer has posted another tender divided into three lots for the manufacturing and testing of the wing for Minesto’s tidal kite.

The Lot 1 of the invitation to tender includes the manufacturing of 12-meter wing in composite material for a submerged tidal power plant. Main materials to be used are carbon fibre and glass fibre, with a design depth around 90 metres.

Lot 2 involves the manufacturing of the wing section that goes with the wing, while under Lot 3, Minesto is inviting tenders to design and manufacture a test rig for wing section tests, as well as to perform the tests on the wing section.

The total contract worth is set at €365,000, with due date for tenders at August 15, 2016.
