Mingde Heavy Hands Over Chemical Tanker ‘Jo Lotus’ (China)

One of the biggest chemical tankers ever built by Mingde Heavy Industry, the ‘JO LOTUS’ was delivered on January 6th 2014.

The vessel, belonging to Jo Tankers AS, is a 30,000 DWT Stainless Steel Chemical Tanker with IMOI/II/III notation.

The length of this vessel is 183 m, covering a 28.4 m width, 15.2 m depth and 10 m in draft. The tanker is powered by a single propeller, low speed diesel engine for unrestricted navigation.

The cargo area is divided into 28 cargo tanks. All cargo tanks are made of stainless steel. Each cargo tank is a self-contained unit, totally separated from each other. Each cargo tank is served by an independent deep-well pump and a cargo transfer system, enabling the vessel to contain 28 different kinds of cargo, while loading or unloading 6 tanks simultaneously.
