Mitsubishi to work with ExxonMobil on gas turbines development

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems are set to collaborate with ExxonMobil on gas turbine technology.

Mitsubishi companies agreed to work with ExxonMobil on the development and applications of the H-100 gas turbine and compressor technologies in order to reduce LNG unit costs, a statement issued on Monday reveals.

Additionally, the collaboration seeks to reduce the complexity of LNG processing plants, lower the lifecycle costs and cut the plant emissions.

MHI President & CEO Shunichi Miyanaga said that the company will benefit from ExxonMobil’s LNG experience and the qualification of the H-100 gas turbine technology for use in LNG facilities.
