MMT chooses ex-Nord Stream man as Russia regional head

Sweden-based marine surveys specialist MMT has appointed a new regional executive in Russia.

MMT said on Tuesday that Andrey Voronov was named the company’s regional executive in Russia and that he would be based in Moscow.

According to the company, Voronov has 25 years of experience from subsea operations and survey technologies in the offshore industry for companies such as Nord Stream AG and Blue Stream as well as a Russian survey company Intershelf-STM. During his time in Nord Stream, Voronov worked as an offshore manager of operations and maintenance.

He started working as MMT’s representative in Russia from May 1, 2017, and is responsible to primarily increase the company’s regional presence in the country and strengthen business relations in the market.

Stefan Eliasson, MMT’s CEO, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Andrey to MMT and look forward to work with him to make our Russian business a success. His deep survey knowledge, business professionalism, and extensive experience from the Russian market will definitely be an important advantage for MMT to support our path to growth.”

Regarding his appointment, Voronov said: “It is my new challenge. MMT is currently the most growing and advanced company on the survey market, and it is a big honor for me to be the part of the company team and to support further expansion of its worldwide presence.”
