MV Werften Inks Design Deal for Endeavor Class Ships

MV Werften, a group of three of the largest shipyards in the Germany, has signed a letter of intent with the engineering company Foreship to design the Endeavor class expedition cruise vessels for cruise line Crystal Cruises.

The agreement covers parts of the basic design, as well as design, purchasing and production assistance of the 20,000 gross ton Endeavor class expedition yachts, which will be built at MV Werften Stralsund.

The company said that the production is scheduled to start in late 2017, while the first vessel could be delivered in spring 2019.

Featuring a length of 160 metres and a width of 23 metres, the Endeavor class vessels for Crystal Cruises would be the world’s largest and most spacious expedition yachts, MV Werften said.

The vessels are designed to operate mainly in Arctic and Antarctic regions and cruise in the tropical regions.

They can accommodate up to 200 passengers in 100 suites and the same amount of crew.

MV Werften’s order book includes a total of ten vessels in the next five years.
