Nautronix: Young People Introduced with the O&G Industry (UK)

Nautronix gave young people across Aberdeen City and Shire an insight in to the Oil & Gas industry and the exciting career opportunities available to them.

Working with Coaching Training Consultancy Ltd, (C-T-C) and their SCIP© programme, Nautronix invited 14 pupils aged between 16 and 17 from St Machar, Dyce and Inverurie Academies to take part in the Nautronix workshop.

The SCIP© programme aims to support 4th to 6th year pupils who are looking for a job or an apprenticeship programme after leaving school. It is designed to give an overview of the energy industry and bridge the skills gap to give pupils a clearer understanding of how to market themselves and to highlight what is expected of them in a job application and interview.

The purpose of the workshop was to give pupils an insight into the industry, demonstrations of Nautronix products and opportunities that are available to them within Nautronix and the industry.

C-T-C’s Director, Alastair Fraser said: “Nautronix is a big supporter of C-T-C and our activities and it has taken part in a number of SCIP workshops, which has inspired the event being held today. Nautronix realises that there is a skills gap within the industry and it is reaching out to the pupils and helping them on to the career ladder.”

Commenting on the success of the workshop, Lynne Adu, Director of Commercial & HR said: “The Oil & Gas industry has a vibrant future ahead of it and offers young people the opportunity to carve out successful careers. This has been a fantastic opportunity for all the pupils involved, it has given them a good insight into the workplace and has allowed them to get some hands-on experience of Nautronix products. It is also a priority of Nautronix, via this SCIP programme and other initiatives, to continue to attract young talent into the company and invest in their development through apprenticeships and other training and development schemes.”
