Navibulgar Goes Green

Bulgarian shipowner Navibulgar is going to rejuvenate its fleet with four eco-friendly size bulk carriers built to the Bluetech 42 design developed by Foreship BlueTech Ltd.

The newbuilds have been ordered from Chinese shipbuilder Jiangsu Hongqiang Marine Heavy Industry. The contract includes options for two additional ships.

The design is claimed to offer 15% bigger hold volume in addition to  higher deadweight between 5 and 9% more.

What is more, the design is described as having the lowest fuel consumption in relation to hold volume and deadweight in its class.

Navibulgar has 37 vessels listed in its fleet, the youngest being built in 2012.
