Navios Containers Completes Boxship Purchase

Monaco-based container shipping company Navios Maritime Containers has taken delivery of Navios Dorado, a 2010-built boxship.

As previously reported, the purchase price of the 4,250 TEU containership was USD 11.78 million.

“The Navios Dorado has been chartered out at a daily net rate of USD 10,468 until April/July 2019, and is expected to generate USD 1.3 million of annual EBITDA, based on fixed operating expenses and 360 revenue days,” the company said.

Navios Containers added it financed the acquisition of the vessel with cash on its balance sheet and USD 6 million of bank debt under one of its existing credit facilities.

Following this acquisition, Navios Containers controls 22 vessels, totaling 93,130 TEU, with a current average fleet age of 9.9 years.

Earlier this week, the company completed a USD 30 million private placement to finance possible vessel acquisitions.
