New Interim CEO Takes the Helm of Interferry

Interferry, a ferry industry association, has appointed Darrell E. Bryan as interim CEO, following the retirement of Len Roueche.

Bryan previously served as CEO at Seattle-based Clipper Navigation, a ferry operator.

Bryan was named for the role that is effective from April 1 by the Interferry board of directors late in 2015 pending the appointment of a permanent successor.

“We thank Len for his long commitment to our organization and to the international ferry community.  We also appreciate Darrell’s willingness to come out of retirement to manage the association, allowing us time to complete the due diligence necessary to recruit a permanent successor,” comments Mike Grainger, Interferry Chairman

In 2014, Bryan was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce to a two-year term on the Travel and Advisory Board. He was also honored by Victoria, British Columbia as the Business Person of the Year in 1998 and received the State Tourism Person of the Year Award in Washington State in 1995.

Interferry’s primary roles are to facilitate networking and communications within the ferry industry and to represent the industry on regulatory and policy matters. Membership includes 200 companies representing more than 600 individuals from 35 countries.
