New Jersey BPU Books OW Supply Chain Event

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJ BPU) Offshore Wind Strategic Plan Team is holding a supply chain networking event in Princeton, U.S.

Local businesses will be able to learn about New Jersey’s plans for offshore wind, supply chain opportunities, available incentives, scope of work packages across all project phases, as well as workforce development programs and the necessary port redevelopment.

The event will take place on 29 November from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time at the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at the Princeton University.

According to the team, leading businesses such as Ørsted, Equinor, EnBW, Alpine Ocean, LS Cable, BVG Associates, US Wind, and Ramboll will be present at the event.

In September, the New Jersey BPU issued a solicitation for the development of the state’s first 1,100MW of offshore wind.

The solicitation is so far the largest single-state solicitation of its kind in the U.S. and the first step in meeting New Jersey’s goal of having 3,500MW of offshore wind installed by 2030.

The 3.5GW target will be guided by the state’s Offshore Wind (OSW) Strategic Plan, currently being prepared by a team comprising Ramboll, Stantec Consulting Services, Rutgers Energy Institute Wind Group, BVG Associates, Business Network for Offshore Wind, InGroup, and Endeavor Fisheries.
