NextDecade adds to executive team

NextDecade, a development and management company of LNG projects, said that it has hired Krysta De Lima as General Counsel and Alfonso Puga as Chief Commercial Officer.

As General Counsel, De Lima will be responsible for all of NextDecade’s legal affairs, including negotiating and drafting agreements for major business transactions, developing legal strategies and providing legal advice to company management, the company said in a statement.

Puga’s responsibilities as CCO include planning, preparing and executing NextDecade’s marketing initiatives, as well as conducting valuable market research to facilitate company growth.

De Lima is an attorney qualified in multiple jurisdictions with extensive transactional experience specializing in the oil and gas industry. Specifically, this includes negotiating all phases of upstream, midstream and LNG sales contracts, as well as supporting large-scale energy project developments. Prior to her current role, De Lima was a senior attorney with Bechtel’s Oil, Gas and Chemicals business unit in Houston, Texas. Prior to that, she held legal and management positions at BG Group in Trinidad and provided advisory services to Schlumberger Business Consulting.

Puga, a seasoned executive with experience in gas, power and LNG markets around the world, will be joining the NextDecade team on October 5, 2015. Most recently, Puga was Head of LNG at PetroChina International in the United Kingdom, where he was responsible for the operation of its trading unit, and the organization and optimization of PetroChina’s short-term portfolio.
