Nextgen Networks Gets New Managing Director

David brings to the role more than 25 years of international experience in the telecommunications industry. As the former CEO of AAPT, David led the transformation of the company into a competitive data and internet provider, culminating in the sale of the business for $450 million in February 2014. Prior to joining AAPT, David was Director of Networks at PowerTel, CEO of 90 East and co-founder of Sales Technology.

Nextgen Group CEO Peter McGrath said, “We are delighted to have David join us to lead Nextgen Networks. His appointment will ensure we are best placed to capitalise on the strong growth in demand for high speed, secure data networks and data centres capacity across the corporate, government and carrier sectors.

Nextgen today has the second largest long-haul fibre network in Australia. With the recently announced 2,000km North West Cable System, connecting Darwin to Port Hedland, and with our network upgrade to 100 Gbps DWDM technology almost complete, Nextgen Networks is positioning itself to be the leading specialist network services provider in the marketplace,” said Mr McGrath.
