Nordana Orders Heavy Lifters from Sanfu Shipyard (China)

Nordana, a Danish shipping company, has placed an order for the construction of four 12,100dwt multi-purpose heavy lift vessels with Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering Co., Ltd.

The new vessels with lifting capacity of 500 tonnes will be built according to a new energy-efficient design of heavy lifters that Nordana developed in cooperation with Sanfu Shipyard and Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI).

Delivery of the vessels will start in 2014.

The financial details of the contract have not been disclosed.

Sanfu Shipyard has successfully delivered 11 Great Dane Mark I series heavy lifters to Nordana during the last four years. The new vessel design is an upgraded version of Mark I.
