The turbines will be built in the water along the dikes of the Noordoostpolder, in two rows beside the Westermeerdijk and the Noordermeerdijk. The wind farm, expected to be completed in 2016, will provide energy to about 160.000 households.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team advised the project developing company which was founded by local land owners. The team was led by Weero Koster (partner Energy) and included Wouter Hertzberger (partner Banking) and Matthijs van Leeuwen (senior associate Energy). They advised on the EPC/O&M agreement with the turbine supplier, the power purchase agreement and all aspects relating to the financing of the project. They also assisted with the negotiations between the parties involved.

Norton Rose Fulbright also recently acted as project counsel for NOP Agrowind, a group of agricultural entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. The project entailed the construction of 26 wind turbines on the Westermeerdijk and Noordermeerdijk, in the Noordoostpolder.
