Bergen Group to Install New Seismic Equipment Onboard Polar Duchess

Bergen Group BMV AS is awarded a contract for rebuilding work on the high-capacity seismic vessel Polar Duchess. The project generates immediate activity at the yard, and will be completed by the end of 1st quarter 2012.

The contract, which has a value of approximately NOK 17 million, comprises the installation of new seismic equipment, as well as re-arranging of existing seismic equipment on board. Polar Duchess is owned by Armada Seismic, a subsidiary of GC Rieber Shipping ASA.

Bergen Group BMV AS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bergen Group ASA. The shipyard, located at Laksevåg in Bergen, currently has an order book ensuring full employment until the first half of the 4th quarter of 2012. Bergen Group BMV has 170 employees.
