Norway: Dolphin Geophysical Introduces SHarp, New Broadband Seismic Product

Dolphin announces SHarp, a combined acquisition and processing broadband seismic product. The increased bandwidth and AVO friendly nature of the process allow the possibility of better use of amplitudes for direct hydrocarbon detection.

The technique does not require special recording equipment so all our vessels are ready to offer this new product. The processing begins on board the vessels and is completed in our UK processing centre using OpenCPS software.

Dr. R. Gareth Williams, Chief Geophysicist for Dolphin said, “This new product provides us with an entry into the important and growing broadband seismic market. It also highlights the benefit of providing both acquisition and processing as a combined service for our multi-client projects as well as our proprietary customers.”

Dolphin will present the technology at the upcoming EAGE annual conference in Copenhagen
