Island Valiant Resumes Excavation Works at Ormen Lange Field

The M/V Island Valiant is still working for AGR Subsea AS excavating along piperoutes on the Northern Extension of the Ormen Lange. The contract was awarded in March 2011 with startup in May, and was initially planned to last for 30 days.

The vessel and trenching spread has flushed away approximately 14.500 m3 of mass, and by end of the campaign, approximately 16.000 m3 of mass has been removed. Planned mass removal was 10.500 m3.

The work has been carried out in water depths down to 950 meters. The largest site removed was more than 11 meters high.

The campaign has been very successful for all parties with an uptime of more than 98%. The trenching spread consist of high volume and high pressure seawater pumped through 6 5/8 ” drill pipe down to AGR`s pattented Clay Cutter.

The campaign is expected to last until end of September.
