SAM Electronics to Exhibit at Nor-Shipping

L-3 SAM Electronics announced today that it will be exhibiting an extensive range of advanced automation, navigation, dynamic positioning, electric propulsion, shore connection and degaussing systems for ships of all types and sizes in Hall C, Booth C02-22c at Nor-Shipping, in Oslo, Norway, June 4–7.

Key exhibits will highlight the latest enhancements to L-3’s established NACOS Platinum series of bridge-based integrated navigation, automation and control systems, which provide a full range of functionality and unprecedented levels of usability and scalability. Utilising a common network and standardised sensors for improved levels of operational safety and convenience, a number of systems have recently been commissioned for the world’s largest container vessels built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) for CMA CGM of France.

L-3 is extremely proud to showcase the successful integration of our systems onto one common platform during this year’s Nor-Shipping show,” said Maik Stoevhase, senior vice president of L-3 SAM Electronics.We are committed to providing a customer-centric approach within our core international maritime markets, and our Platinum line of NACOS, VALMATIC and dynamic positioning systems is an excellent example of our strategy in action.

Other displays include an L-3 Valmarine multi-function VALMATIC Platinum automation assembly with distributed hardware for centralised control and management of all main equipment functions together with a new Platinum dynamic positioning and control system developed by L-3 Dynamic Positioning & Control Systems in collaboration with L-3 SAM Electronics and L-3 Lyngsø Marine.

L-3 SAM Electronics will also showcase its established energy and drive capabilities, including advanced diesel-electric propulsion assemblies with power ratings ranging from 0.5 MW to 28 MW. These features ensure optimum levels of safety and performance through a combination of innovative frequency converter design and redundant assembly layouts per the new cruise liners for Princess Cruises and Viking Ocean Cruises.
