Norway: NORCOWE's Research Partners Become Members of EERA Joint Programme on Wind Energy

Two of NORCOWE’s research partners, Christian Michelsen Research AS and the University of Bergen, have recently become associated members of  the EERA Joint Programme on Wind Energy. One of the sub-programmes of the EERA JP on Wind Energy is offshore wind, and this was the theme of the workshop hosted by Sintef Energy Research in Trondheim on June 5-6.

The overall objective of the sub-programme is “through pre-competitive research to lay a scientific foundation for the industrial development of more cost effective offshore wind farms and enabling large scale deployment at any seas”. The offshore wind energy sub-programme is led by Dr. John O. Tande from Sintef Energy Research in Norway.

After the recent additions, the EERA Joint Programme on Wind Energy now counts 37 research institutes and universities from all over Europe. The JP coordinator is Dr. Peter Hauge Madsen from DTU Wind Energy in Denmark.
