Norway Polar Onyx Launched and Ready for Final Outfitting

GC Rieber’s Polar Onyx was recently launched at Ulstein Verft, and is now a ready for the final outfitting stage at the yard.

GC Rieber has a charter agreement with Ceona Services (UK) Limited for its high capacity subsea newbuild for a fixed period of 5 years, with options for up to five years.

The vessel will commence working for Ceona immediately upon delivery from Ulstein Verft in the first quarter of 2014.

Polar Onyx

Polar Onyx is a high-capacity vessel designed for operations in harsh conditions and deep waters, with a length of 130 meters and a 25 meter beam.

The vessel is designed to operate in the SURF/Construction/ IRM market, with capacity for flexible pipe loads below deck and on main deck. The ship can accommodate 130 crew members, and is built according to the latest international environmental standards.

It is equipped with a 275t Vertical Lay System above a moonpool which is capable of installing flexible pipe and umbilicals to 3,000m water depth.
