Norway: Shell Grant Consent to Use Island Constructor for Subsea Facilities Maintenance

A/S Norske Shell (Shell) has been granted consent for use of the mobile well intervention facility Island Constructor for maintenance of subsea facilities on the Draugen field.

In September 2010, Shell was granted consent to perform maintenance on wells A55H and B2H.

However, the work was postponed.

The new consent constitutes an expansion and applies to corresponding well overhaul on B1 and B5.

According to the new plans, the maintenance work will now start with light well intervention on A55H.

In October, the Island Constructor is scheduled to return for maintenance work on B2H, B1 and B5.

The work on B2H could be pushed forward if the availability of the facility or other relevant factors so warrant.

Island Constructor is a well intervention facility operated by Iceland Offshore Management AS.

The facility received the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway’s Acknowledgement of Compliance in September 2010.
