Norway: Shell receives consent to drill on Ormen Lange

Shell has received consent to carry out exploration drilling on Ormen Lange using the mobile facility West Navigator.

The consent relates to conducting drilling and well activities in connection with the drilling of appraisal well 6305/4-2S.

The well has the following geographical coordinates:

N 63° 38′ 14.976″, E 05° 17′ 54.156″. The water depth at the site is 1086 meters.

Planned start-up of the drilling activity is in September 2010, and the operation has an expected duration of about 70 days.
