Kleven Maritime, a Norwegian shipbuilder, today announced that the LNG-powered Vessel Viking Princess will be launched from a slipway at Kleven at 12:00 on Saturday, April 21

The Multipurpose Offshore Support Vessel Viking Princess is a sister ship to Viking Prince, which was delivered to the shipping company Eidesvik in March. Viking Prince has been chartered to Swedish oil company Lundin Petroleum.

Viking Princess will after the launching be outfitted at Kleven Verft yard, and handed over to Eidesvik Offshore in September this year. She will be the sixth Eidesvik Offshore vessel powered by LNG.

Kleven Maritime built the world’s first LNG powered supply vessel, Viking Energy, for Eidesvik in 2003. Kleven Maritime is Norway’s largest Norwegian-owned shipbuilding group, and is the leading supplier of advanced gas powered vessels.
