Ocean Star PSV begins Statoil adventure

The vessel, designed by Wartsila, built by Kleven yard in May, began its 6 years long contract with Statoil on June 1.

The vessel is built according to Wartsila’s VS 485 MKIII L design. It is around 90 meters long and with a loading area of 1050 square meters.

Statoil will use the platform supply vessel to support its operations on the Norwegian continental shelf, and the Wärtsilä design has been tailored to meet the challenging conditions presented by the North Sea environment.

The design also includes the specific fuel economy and cargo capacity requirements of the owners and operator.
