Ocean Yield Secures New Charter for Lewek Connector

Ocean Yield has entered into a short-term charter contract with a company related to Ezra for the Lewek Connector vessel.

The new charter contract will have a duration of four months at a rate of USD 40,000 per day, Ocean Yield informed.

Lewek Connector is capable of operating down to to 3,000 meters water depth.

The vessel is able to install power cables, umbilicals and risers using its two heave compensated offshore cranes, horizontal and vertical lay systems and two turntables with a total pay-load capacity of 9,000 tonnes.

The contract follows from the termination of the bareboat charter with EMAS Chiyoda Subsea (ECS), following a request by ECS for a short-term standstill agreement.

ECS is a joint venture established by Ezra Holdings and Chiyoda Corporation, after which Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) acquired 25% equity interest in ECS.

Ocean Yield noted that it will still continue to participate in the discussions regarding a financial restructuring of the EMAS Chiyoda Subsea.
