OEECLive: Watch Two Live Streams on Wednesday!

Subsea World News crew is at the Offshore Energy Exhibition and Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

On the second and final day of the event, we will be live streaming two talk shows from Community Square at the exhibition floor.

First up is a talk show themed “From bust to boom” where there will be a discussion on jobs in oil, gas and renewables.

The number of layoffs in the E&P industry has surpassed the 300,000 figure, and counting, while companies in the renewables industry have difficulties finding the right people.

What career options are there for professionals? What should students and young professionals know about future jobs in energy?

The speakers are Jo Peters, Secretary General, Netherlands Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Association NOGEPA, Joannes Colette, Owner, Collette Consultancy & Design and Founder, HBO Offshore Network, and John Baken, Project Manager CAREER, Top consortium for Knowledge and Innovation Offshore Wind (TKI Wind op Zee).

To get the answers to these questions, tune in to a live stream of discussion on Subsea World News. The stream will appear right here, above this article.

The first thirty-minute stream kicks off at 12:30 hrs CET.

Future proof your business

Later in the day, readers are invited to visit Tidal Energy Today and follow the live stream of the on air session themed “Future-proof your business.”

The session, also held at Community Square in Hall 5, of the exhibition floor, will explore how energy companies are preparing for a low carbon world. Over time, oil and gas companies have changed the way they presented themselves: from producers of resources to providers of energy.

Today, more than ever, we see shifting portfolios, favoring gas over coal and oil and including renewables.

How can traditional energy companies be successful in their own transition to a low carbon world? What dilemmas could they encounter?

Gert-Jan Kramer, Professor of Sustainable Energy Supply Systems, Utrecht University; René Peters, Director Gas Technology, TNO, Nick Spies, Division Director Offshore / Oil & Gas, iPS – Powerful People and Stijn de Flart, Mechanical Engineer, Winner Energy Transition Scholarship will be on stage, providing their valuable insight into the matter of this energy transition.

This session will be live streamed on Subsea World News on Wednesday October 26, at 16.00 hrs CET, right above this article.
