Offshore Renewable Energy to Be Discussed in Florida

After growing interest in renewable energy development offshore Florida, the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), in coordination with the State of Florida, is organizing the first Florida Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Force Meeting on December 11, 2014.

The purpose of this Task Force is to facilitate coordination among Federal, State, local and tribal government organizations for potential renewable energy leasing efforts in Federal waters offshore Florida’s Atlantic Coast.

“You must represent a government agency to participate on the Task Force. Members of the public will be given the opportunity to provide comment at the end of this meeting (3:45 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.),” BOEM said on its website.

The meeting will be held from 9:00 a.m – 4:15 p.m. in Port St. Lucie.
