The event, sponsored by Petrotechnics, will take place at Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Robert Paterson, Oil & Gas UK’s health and safety director, said: “Our industry employs around 450,000 people, both onshore and offshore, so adopting a long-term strategic approach to employee health and well-being is key to ensuring that people and organisations thrive. The process is very much two-way: employers need to embrace the opportunity to enhance the well-being of employees within their existing business processes and objectives and recognise the associated business benefits. Employees too have a key role but must accept that a significant part of achieving a healthy lifestyle is under their own control.”

Ian Russell, managing director of Sodexo, will share the latest industry health statistics and explain the impact they have on the sector, as well as different methods to improve well-being.

David Hainsworth, Total E&P UK’s safety, health, environment, quality and integrity director, will outline three health campaigns his company is implementing to enhance well-being including one initiated by staff on the Alwyn North platform, a healthy eating programme and an international fitness initiative known as the “Global Corporate Challenge”.

Arthur Stewart, knowledge exchange officer at Robert Gordon University’s Institute of Health and Well-being Research, will approach the topic from a UK-wide perspective providing advice and guidance on how to help employees maintain a healthy lifestyle by making better informed health choices. Places at the breakfast can be booked online here.
