ABB said on Monday that the agreement would last up to ten years and covers integrated service and support services, including remote support, to the OKEA-operated field.

According to the company, the agreement started in December 2018 and has a duration of six years with a possible extension of two plus two years.

Tor Ove Lussand, head of ABB’s oil and gas business, said: “The new agreement will help OKEA continue and improve the efficient, secure and stable operation of Draugen, not least through increased digitization and interaction with our land-based interaction centers in, for example, Bergen and Oslo.

The framework agreement includes operations and maintenance, data security, and advanced services such as measuring and improving performance, as well as fine-tuning and optimizing the processes at the plants.

ABB’s service concept consists of operating support, optimization, and engineering services that are integrated into the customer’s operational and project organization.

The company added that previous contracts with the previous operator – Shell – provided significant savings, increased production, and improved health and safety, among other things through advanced digitization solutions.

It is worth reminding that OKEA acquired a package of Shell’s interests on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in late November 2018 and took over the operator role on Draugen.
