Oldendorff Carriers Buys Two Second-Hand Bulkers

German shipowner and operator Oldendorff Carriers is expanding its fleet with two more second-hand vessels, the Post Panamax bulk carriers UBC Onsan and UBC Ohio, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

Featuring around 118,600 dwt respectively, the bulkers were bought from Oldendorff’s compatriot shipping firm Hartmann Reederei.

The parties did not disclose the purchase price for the vessels, both of which were built in 2011 by China’s Dayang Shipbuilding Co.

VesselsValue data shows that the market value for each of the ships stands at USD 13.8 million.

In September, Oldendorff bought another second-hand Post Panamax bulker, namely Emma Schulte, for a price of USD 12.6 million.

The 115,200 dwt vessel, built in 2012 by China’s Jiangnan Shanghai Changxing Heavy, was purchased from German shipowner Schulte Thomas.
