OPDR to Call New Hamburg Terminal

The short sea shipping company Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei (OPDR), a part of the French major CMA CGM Group, will call a new terminal in the Port of Hamburg.

OPDR said that its vessel DP Legacy is scheduled to call the C. Steinweg Group’s Süd-West-Terminal (SWT) on October 11, 2016.

The 925 TEU containership, which is deployed in the CISS service, will call at the terminal.

DP Legacy will head for Rotterdam after leaving Hamburg.

The terminal, which offers more than 210,000 square meters of operational area, has a 1,350 meter long quay which provides six berths.

“We look forward to our new partnership with C. Steinweg. The Süd-West-Terminal offers very good conditions that meet all the infrastructural requirements of OPDR,” Till Ole Barrelet, Chief Executive Officer of OPDR, said.

With a fleet of 11 vessels, OPDR calls ports in Germany, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Spain (Canary Islands inclusive), Portugal and Morocco.

The company also operates in the Scandinavian and Baltic Sea region as well as Mauritania, the Cape Verde and the Azores.
