ORE Catapult seeks lead blade research engineer

Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (ORE Catapult) is looking for Lead Research Engineer for Blades to join its team in Blyth, UK.

The responsibilities for the position include developing research and development strategy and program for the blades/rotors area, according to ORE Catapult.

The recruited research engineer will also design and lead projects relating to the development of innovative solutions for the design and testing of blades and blade/rotor components for marine and wind turbines.

In addition, the successful candidate will also be tasked with securing external research funding from both industry and public funders to increase investment in the blade areas, as well as with managing and leading a team of research engineers, among other duties.

The research center noted the candidate should have a PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline, preferable of Chartered status and post-doctorate research experience to qualify for the role.

ORE Catapult was established in 2013 by the UK government as its flagship technology innovation and research center for offshore wind, wave and tidal energy.
